Dubai Marina introduced the concept of pre-sold property to the United Arab Emirates, and elicited a strong response from both UAE nationals anxious to buy exclusive waterfront property, and expatriates seeking watertight investments.
The Marina lifestyle is built around an uninterrupted waterside promenade, parks and boat-berthing facilities in the near future. Contributing to the lifestyle are shopping outlets, restaurants, cafes, day care centres and fitness facilities. An intelligent community, Dubai Marina also affords high-speed internet access, closed-circuit television.

The first building phase, which is over 2.7 million sq. ft, consists of 1,026 waterfront apartments in six high-rise towers and 64 luxury villas. The first three towers were successfully handed over in 2003. The Al Majara and Al Sahab Towers are scheduled for completion by end of December 2004.
The prospect of yachting and sailing offered by the Marina brings Dubai full circle back to its sea-faring roots. Dubai originally came to prominence as a trading hub, and traditional dhows still ply the coast as a constant reminder of the past. Now an old Dubai tradition is set to return in dashing new style. |
