Fascinating convent built in the first half of 600 from Great Duchess Maria Cristina Di Lorena, wife of Grand Duke Cosimo II De Medici, instead of a pre-existing medieval church of the Augustinians.
The religious complex coated considerable importance until 1813.
Today the old convent was transformed into a private residence, and consists of a series of buildings among which are well distinguishable the remains of the church, the local monastery and cloister.
From the church, originally a single nave, with crypt and side chapel, is kept discreetly only the apse area. The convent well preserved, houses the cells of the monks throughout the first floor. The cloister presents arches with traces of frescoes in the lunettes.
The convent is of square plan and is surrounded by about 15,000 square meters of land.
The structure still able to convey strong emotions and is located in the heart of the Maremma, about 20 km from the sea, for 1 h from Florence and 1 h 30 from Rome.
The property is wonderful and enjoys a relaxed view of the Maremma's hills until dell'Uccellina Natural Park and the promontory.
