The developer turned to the native bahay kubo as the inspiration for designing a vacation home. It may be the most basic in Filipino architecture, but it is also the most practical in design for living in the tropics. The lower floor is where we situate the kitchen and entertainment space and the second floor we put the living quarters. Vast windows control ventilation providing adequate protection from the sun and rain as well as allowing nature indoors. Filipinos are renowned for their hospitality, so in keeping with this tradition we designed our casita as a ready entertainment center. Times have changed but the climate has not so simplicity in design, ventilation and comfort all come together with the evolution of our design. The bahay kubo was a structure perfect for it's time and who's time has again come.
