The Estate Consalvo is situated south of Pisa (Tuscany), on the Metal Hills in the northern part of Maremma.
The total area is 284 hectares (700 acres)
The sea and famous seaside resorts like Punta Ala, Follonica, S.Vincenzo, Donoratico, Baratti gulf, are about 20 Km away.
Consalvo is between two rivers: Cornia and Massera. The hilly area of the estate is partly covered with mediterranean woods, here there are also the best areas for vineyards.
In fact the mild climate is perfect for vineyards: the whole area of Val di Cornia has obtained the mark "Controlled Denomination of Origin" (D.O.C.) for the wine produced here.
The flat lands of the estate stretch between the hill and the rivers.
The name of the estate "Consalvo" is that of its ancient owner, a Spanish general Consalvo da Cordova, who fought and won battles for the King of Spain Ferdinando II at the end of the fifteenth century (1494-1504). Now the estate Consalvo belongs to Bertucci family through "TENUTA CONSALVO" Society.
