DESCRIPTION
This 300 yr old house of character is situated in the older quarter of  the   village of Qrendi. A small village of approx 2,500 people. Small lane ways with limestone buildings, iron grilled doorways greet you at every turn in the older part of the village.  Public transport is just within walking distance to take you to Valletta for your true Maltese experience..drinking coffee and eating wonderful pastries and just breathing in the life and feel of Malta, whilst viewing the aquatic masterpiece of the Mediterranean.

Close to  ancient Neolithic temples and ancient ruins, and not far from the Blue Grotto, Qrendi is ideally situated to take advantage of quiet living with the beaches and cliff top restaurants just around the corner.

The home has a lovely separate granny flat near the pool, with its own kitchen and separate bathroom. A 30 meter "runway" separates the house from the pool and pool house area. This  home has been extensively renovated by the owner. There is an ancient  water well situated in the internal courtyard. Solid stone steps that have had feet on them for 300 years, arches and flooring to remind you that this is truly a wonderful house of character and history.

The summer courtyard is outside the kitchen and offers a truly Mediterranean feel to your outdoor eating experience. Your morning coffee and pastry will taste so much better surrounded by potted plants and under the warm winter sun.

For  more formal dining there is a newer addition in the form of a large dining and lounge area,  for winter and summer enjoyment. It has views down the "runway" to the pool and back to the winter courtyard.

The winter lounge area is situated in what was originally the animal shelter, now converted by the owner into a cosy winter retreat. It has curved arches and is toasty warm for those windy winter Malta nights where you just want to relax and watch TV or entertain your friends in the warmth.

The 3rd level large comfy bedroom has its own bathroom and "Bali style" outdoor terrace, with view of the mountains. The owner has a love affair with Bali and this is her little place of paradise to sit and relax and read.

This home is really designed to take advantage of the Maltese summer and winter, with protection from the wind and taking advantage of the winter sun and the summer shade.

This home is suitable for rentals for holidays, and also can accommodate a large family with their own spaces and privacy.  It is withing easy access to the main road to Valletta.
Throughout history, Malta's location has given it great strategic importance, and a succession of powers including the Phoenicians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Normans, Aragonese, Habsburg Spain, Knights of St John, French and the British ruled the islands.
Malta was admitted to the United Nations in 1964 and to the European Union in 2004.

Malta has a long Christian legacy  St. Paul was shipwrecked on "Melite", as the Greeks called the island, and ministered there. Catholicism is the official religion in Malta as declared by the Maltese constitution.

Malta is internationally renowned as a tourist destination, with numerous recreational areas and historical monuments, including nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites, most prominently the Megalithic Temples which are some of the oldest free-standing structures in the world.
