Historical Inn, known in the past as well as the King's Post Station, is situated in the small village of Kozelnik, in the Middle of Slovakia. The major tourist road leads through beautiful and pristine environment of this region. The whole surrounding country is an important UNESCO historical area, known for its mining past, thermal springs and healing spas.
The building and its property sits on the main road, connecting the capitol Bratislava and leading to historical and cultural town of Banska Stiavnica. This city and the historical Inn were built in the 14th/15th century, mainly in baroque style. The historical research for the whole building and its details was done by the leading historical expert in Slovakia, and is available to read and to utilize it in the future. Such documentation is required when someone buys and wants to reconstruct end enjoy this type of property.
The historical Inn in Kozelnik is in its original but very well maintained condition. Until recently was permanently inhabited by one family for last 100 years. Later, when we've bought it 3 years ago, we’ve used it as our permanent residence. All the major services, such as water, electricity and central heating, have been replaced in 2008/2009 and are connected and utilized. The static of the whole building, 2 huge stables and the 22 meters long cellar is excellent state. The timber contraction of the roof has been reconstructed in 1930th and is still in very good condition. The roof and the very massive double chimney were renovated by owner in 1970th. As the major services have been completed, only work needed is interior painting and outside rendering.
This is a Cultural monument of the highest classification and therefore eligible for EU grants through the Ministry of Culture in Slovakia or directly to EU for its complete reconstruction. Because of its historical past, the house, courtyard and huge cellar, which is independently carved into the hill behind the buildings, as well as 2 large stone stables, all can be restored and utilized. There is parking available for app. 10 cars and the bus. Next to the house is the bus stop, which belongs to our property.
There is a great potential for this monument, mainly because of large tourist flow passing, actually under the windows of the Inn. Tourists from different countries in Europe visit during the whole year the nature and the cultural inheritance of this part of Slovakia. Therefore any king of tourist or business venture would succeed, such as restaurant, pension, inn, antique shop, art gallery, etc.
