 This custom 3 bedroom 2.5 bath cedar chalet sits on the banks of the famous Kootenai River. The Kootenai River originates on the western slope of the Canadian Rockies. It is the second largest tributary to the Columbia River. It is possibly the best kept secret in Montana. Born of crystal clear glacier fed streams, the Kootenai River provides exceptional trout fishing. Rainbow trout are the backbone of its fishery with individuals in the 12-16 inch class being fairly common. There are also fish well in excess of 10 lbs. This large mountain river is also an outstanding site for viewing bald eagles, nesting osprey, great blue herons, and waterfowl.
This home is located just outside the city limits of Libby Montana which is in Northwest Montana. Northwest Montana is an extensive mountainous area on the west side of the Continental Divide in the far northwest corner of Montana bordering Canada to the north and Idaho to the west. The Region is home to two of the most popular travel destinations of the Pacific Northwest, Glacier National Park and Flathead Lake. The state department of tourism calls this "Glacier Country".
